Neck & Decolleté Care

Neck & Decolleté Care

Skin ageing becomes more visible at the neck than on the face. This vulnerable area therefore deserves extra attention!

Forgotten zones

It often happens that someone has beautiful facial skin, but the skin of the neck and décolleté (as well as that of the hands) tell a completely different story and reveals that person's true age. This is because the skin of the neck is thinner and more delicate than that of the face, making skin ageing visible earlier on this vulnerable zone. Unfortunately, precisely this delicate area is often skipped during the daily beauty routine!

Care

Although the appearance of your neck and decolleté is partly determined by your genes, you can still achieve a lot with the right products and lifestyle. By applying our tips, you will contribute to a tighter and more even neck area in the long run.

So include neck and décolleté care in your daily beauty routine and apply your products both morning and night for optimal effect.

  • Using a lifting, conditioning serum can make a big difference for the neck area.
  • We also have several nourishing and moisturising creams in our range that are great for neck and décolleté care. Creams with vitamin A, C and/or E help combat skin damage and ageing, reduce pigmentation spots and improve skin elasticity and firmness.

Tip: when using a facial peeling, don't forget to include the neck and décolleté. A peeling removes dead skin cells, improves skin texture and makes the skin soft and smooth. Use exfoliation less frequently for the neck than for the face, due to the difference in skin firmness.

The effect of a healthy lifestyle

Whether it is about shiny hair, strong nails or beautiful skin, your lifestyle affects everything. A healthy lifestyle has a positive effect on your entire system and thus also on neck and décolleté skin quality.

Did you know, for example, that smoking, in addition to all the negative effects on your health, makes your skin thinner and saggier, causes wrinkles and rosacea and gives you a yellowish, grey and dull complexion?

And did you know that (refined) sugars can damage the collagen in your skin?

You are what you eat!

Tech neck

Are you glued to your smartphone or tablet? The hunched posture you adopt then can lead to wrinkles. Want to avoid a teck neck? Then make sure you don't look down too long and too often with your chin pressed on your neck. This is also better for your back and neck vertebrae.

By keeping your chin up more, you can counteract the appearance of deep necklines. So try to become aware of your posture when you are working at your laptop, for example, or using your phone for a long time.

Exercise your neck muscles

As a regular part of your beauty routine, doing facial exercises regularly can have a positive effect on neck and décolletage skin firmness.

Some examples:

  • Bring your head back and look up. Make a kissing motion with your lips and hold the ‘kiss’ for a few seconds. Keep the rest of your face relaxed.
  • Turn your head to the left and look up diagonally so that the neck muscle tightens. Then look up diagonally to the right and do the same.
  • Look straight ahead, bring your head forward and smile. This causes the jaw to tighten and the neck muscle to contract.

Perfume

Many perfumes generate free radicals when activated by sunlight. This makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight and leads to an increased risk of skin ageing. If you like to use a perfume, apply it in a less exposed area. You can also spray your perfume on your hair or clothes. This is not only better for your skin, but your perfume will also last longer!
