Collection: Your baby's skin

Baby's skin is five times thinner than that of adults, so it is much more sensitive and delicate. It does not yet have a protective acid mantle. The acid mantle is a "jacket" that protects against dehydration, irritation and infection. The horny layer, which is part of the epidermis, has not yet matured either. The horny layer protects against bacteria. This is why baby's skin dries out more quickly and is more sensitive to UV rays, as they have less pigmentation than adults.
