Facial care
The face is the part of the body most exposed to the outside air and is therefore directly affected by changes in weather. That is precisely why it deserves some extra love during the winter months.
Serum
Using a serum underneath your face cream can really make a difference in winter. It gives the skin an extra boost and helps protect it better against cold and dryness.
Day and Night Cream
Don’t skip your face cream! Many people choose a richer cream in winter than in summer — and that is a perfectly good choice. Feel free to try something new; alternating products keeps the skin responsive and fresh.

Eye Contour Care
The skin around the eyes is thin and delicate. In winter, this area can become dry or irritated more quickly due to cold weather and indoor heating. Don’t forget to include the eye contour in your skincare routine. Use products specifically designed for this area. Do you suffer from eczema on the eyelids? Then extra care during this period is especially important.
Mask
A face mask is no luxury in winter. It provides extra nourishment and hydration.
Cleanse the skin beforehand with a gentle cleanser and then apply a generous layer of mask. Do you have combination skin? You can use multiple masks at the same time (multi-masking) for optimal results.
Extra tip:
As tempting as it may be, avoid washing your face with hot water. Heat can cause redness and blotchiness because blood vessels constrict.
Body Care
Although the skin seems well protected by warm clothing in winter, it can still dry out. Wearing multiple layers can prevent the skin from breathing properly.
- Hydrate and nourish your skin regularly with a rich body cream or body oil
- Do not shower too long or too hot
- Use a body scrub 1–2 times a week to remove dead skin cells
Hands
Don’t forget your hands! In winter, many people suffer from cracks and chapped hands. Always carry a tube of hand cream in your bag and consider keeping one in the car as well. Apply the cream whenever needed and be sure to care for your hands in the evening too. During the night, they can recover especially well.
Feet
Give your feet some extra attention — after all, they carry you all day long!- Take a foot bath more often using Dead Sea Salt. The feet are sometimes referred to as the body’s “third kidney” because toxins and waste products are released through the soles. A Dead Sea Salt foot bath stimulates detoxification.
- After the foot bath (or during a shower), remove excess calluses with a lava stone
- Preferably use a hydrating foot cream daily to prevent cracks and calluses
Hair Care
In winter, hair suffers from the contrast between cold outdoor air and warm, dry indoor air. As a result, hair dries out more quickly and may look brittle and dull.- Wash your hair with lukewarm water
- Use both a shampoo and a conditioner
- Massage the shampoo gently with your fingertips
- Preferably wash the hair twice: first to cleanse, then to allow active ingredients to work effectively
- Gently pat wet hair dry
- Wrap a towel around the head to absorb excess moisture
- Comb hair only when it is towel-dry, using a wide-tooth comb
- Never brush wet hair
- Preferably let hair air-dry
- Limit wearing hats, caps, and beanies that can cause static hair
- Occasionally run your hands through your hair to stimulate natural oil production
Static Hair
Static hair is caused by friction, especially when hair is dry. What helps:
- Use a conditioner after every wash
- Choose a comb made of horn or bone; this prevents static electricity
Extreme Frost
You can use a face cream during frost, as long as you stay alert to your skin’s signals.
Once you are back indoors, treat the skin with a hydrating cream. Allow it enough time to absorb before going outside again.
Hydrate More Often
Finally
During winter, also pay extra attention to nutrition and lifestyle. You are what you eat. Drink enough water and stay active, preferably outdoors. A healthy foundation always shows in the skin!
